The Classic Neocons Are Out, but They Might Still Get What They Want

Stefanik to the U.N. is another form of repayment to the late patriarch Sheldon and now matriarch Miriam Adelson for the $200+ million their foundation shoveled to Trump and the Republicans.  Since the U.N. generally is decidedly anti-Israel, sticking über- Israel pit-bull supporter Stefanik in that high-visibility seat rewards Stefanik for her loyalty and will garner Trump an atta-boy from Miriam.

I suppose the question is if Israel is a one-off foreign issue for Trump?  Will Neocon Stefanik have foreign influence outside of the U.N. and Israel or will she be a one-trick pro-Israel pony?  I am assuming that Trump will give Netanyahu cart blanche to ethnically cleanse Eretz Israel.  So it’s all over but the crying for the Palestinians under a Trump 2 regime.  Non-interventionists won’t get anything positive from Trump related to the Middle East.

Kristi Noem picked for DHS is another loyalist political hack selection.  DHS is a sprawling Leviathan that should be broken up.  Half-wit Noem is very unlikely to do anything to reign in that administrative monster.

Marco Rubio, supposedly the lead candidate for the State job is also a half-wit war-monger.  As the article states, Pompeo and Haley being rejected may be good, but the alternatives being floated are all pretty terrible.  Moreover, Trump wants to shovel more Tens of Billions of debt-funded dollars to the hyper-bloated Pentagon.

It looks like the Trump hangover is setting in.  It will be interesting to see how the Kennedy 5 responds to Trump as he deviates from their idealized view of him.  And it will also be interesting to see how Trump responds to their objections, because Trump’s usual response to those he considers to be “traitors” is ugly decapitation.
