Writes Brian Dunaway:
From the article: “It’s always been a very small percentage of the population that actually goes and sees movies.”
I know Seth Rogan’s brain has been fried from decades enveloped in a fog of cannabis, but what is he, eight years old? What he means by “always” is since he’s been born.
As a family in the 60s and 70s, and later dating in the 80s and 90s, we went to see a movie at least once a week, and it was very difficult to make up our minds what we were going to see.
My parents, growing up in the 30s and 40s, also went at least once a week, and saw fabulous classics every time. They were of modest means, but could still scrape up the dime they needed to go to the movies (where they often stayed all day).
I now see about one movie a year, which is approximately the number of films released per year for grownups.
