Making Eggs Illegal

Writes Vicki Marzullo:

Regarding Karen De Coster’s post about making eggs illegal in Michigan, the description “cage free” does not mean healthy.  Though the chickens aren’t in small cages, thousands of them are crammed into large buildings in which they can barely move around.  They’re fed unhealthy diets that include GMO corn and soy. The chickens also don’t get to see sunlight; only artificial lighting that is always on.

The healthiest eggs are organic “pasture-raised” eggs.  The chickens are raised on pasture and eat their natural diet.  If they are fed cracked corn, it has to be organic corn.

Never fall for the “cage free” description.  The corporations do that to make people think the chickens are being raised in a healthy environment, maybe even on a pasture, which they are not.
