Greetings From Texas

Writes Brian Dunaway:

The vast majority of Texas politicians have been very reticent to mention the role that the failure of the wind power constituent has played in this power grid collapse. Until this happened I had no idea that one quarter of Texas power comes from wind. Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner is an exception, mentioning the wind turbines by name, and is he pissed.

This morning’s tweet from the ironically named Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) really made me sick, sounding as if “renewable energy” is coming to the rescue.

Well I have to go now to get water out of the lake to use in our toilets. We have power, but no water. The water supply that feeds the whole area outside of southwest Houston is down.
