University of Maryland Trustees Change Name of Byrd Stadium

No, it’s not named after legendary Virginia Senator Harry Byrd, nor West Virginia’s disgraced big-spender Bobby Byrd – it’s named after former University of Maryland president H.C. “Curley” Byrd, a major figure in the school’s history and a noted supporter of racial segregation, according to ESPN.

Trembling campus ninnies at Princeton got rid of Woodrow Wilson, not because he was a lying warmongering radical, but because he too was a “racist.”

Next up? Bobby Byrd (D-WV), former Grand Cyclops of the anti-Catholic, anti-Semitic, anti-Black (in that order) Ku Klux Klan, who was rewarded for his intrepid service by being elected Senate Majority Leader, only to resign in order to chair the Appropriations Committee and pass out another billion to the cronies back home.

Bobby has dozens of buildings and monuments named after him throughout the Mountain State – hospitals, university buildings, roads, rivers, and bridges. Let’s see how long it takes to get out the Correcto-Type.

And after the Grand Cyclops Byrd is plucked? I nominate John F. Kennedy.

Forget the monuments and the “eternal flame” (the only one  of those he ever had, that’s for sure). Start with the hundreds of primary and secondary schools named after this flagrant philanderer who also abused his power by seducing young Miss Mimi Alford, a barely legal White House intern, and keeping her as his mistress for over a year. She was so intimidated that she never – even in the most “intimate” of situations – called him anything but “Mr. President.”

And then he had the gall to pass her around to his pals at the White House pool.

Is that a non-starter? Well, how about starting with the dozens (at least) of Catholic schools named after this notorious adulterer and abuser? Can they take enough time off from praying (and paying) to end global warming to do their moral duty?

Think about it. Do you have a John F. Kennedy Catholic School in your neighborhood? Why not call the pastor and ask him why he hasn’t changed the school’s name yet?

Country’ll grow.
