Trump and the Deep State: A Retrospective

For over a year I have composed an evolving series of highly-critical blogs at LRC on what I believed to be the central issue in this 2016 critical alignment presidential election: the relationship between Donald Trump and the subterranean Deep State.

What would the Deep State make of his candidacy? Once the Deep State’s visible adjuncts and subservient minions began their vicious assault upon him, would Trump declare war upon the Deep State? Would he challenge, expose, and dismantle this leviathan, especially its exponential growth from 2001 under the Bush and Obama regimes?

Throughout this process I have had no illusions concerning the parties involved: of the Deep State itself, of Trump and his running mate Mike Pense, of Hillary Clinton and her running mate Tim Kaine.

I have gleefully watched as Trump destroyed forever the GOP establishment of the Bushes and the neocons.

I have enthusiastically cheered the divisive renting of the Democrats by the duplicitous guerrilla warfare against Bernie Sander’s candidacy revealed by WikiLeaks.

I have painfully observed the self-inflicted suicide of the once noble Libertarian Party by the doofus Johnson and the Quisling Weld.

I have been delightfully astonished by the abject self-abasement and destruction of the establishment mainstream media, with its coterie of pressitutes and regime parasitical shills.

I have been sickened and utterly repelled by the sordid revelations of the “strategy of tension” tactics of the anti-Trump operatives by Project Veritas.

But the most amazing aspects of campaign 2016 has been the energetic transformational rebirth of America First  populist nationalism against all the sundry globalist elites by the Trump campaign, and emergence of the internal revolt of heroic subversive patriotic elements within the Deep State itself, giving their all to stop the Clinton fascistic juggernaut.
