He introduces, as promised, his bill to decriminalize marijuana at the federal level by removing it from the government’s list of controlled substances. This could have been a good test of conservative Republicans who talk about limited government and federalism and the Constitution. But if the bill were a clean bill that would just decriminalize marijuana, would Republicans vote for it? Don’t bet on it, since Republicans are mostly nanny statists who only give lip service to the Constitution.
