If you long for more “interaction” with your local Highway Robber after he tickets you for speeding, you can join him for a cup of joe. (I presume you drink it rather than throwing it in his face.)
Yep, Our Rulers in Hawthorne, California, originated “Coffee with a Cop” in 2011 to “break through the barriers that have been built over the years” between police and the serfs they boss—sorry, serve. I guess refraining from theft, beatings, murder and rape was simply too difficult for these predators. So they hope to indoctrinate—whoops, I mean “[establish] trust between the community and the police” by sitting down with us—oh, gross—at “Events” that “are relaxed, informal and open for discussions.” I’ll bet.
The cops behind this brainwashing worry that “over time the character and composition of our nation’s communities have changed due to shifting demographics, more commuters, and the introduction of different communication methods such as websites and social media.” Indeed. Tough for us prey to believe that the thugs we see on online—all the stuff the gatekeepers in the corporate media used to suppress, from stomping on expectant mothers to shooting dogs—not only love us but crave warm fuzzies, or at least our submission, in return. So in the best totalitarian tradition, they’ll spring for some brew to re-educate us.
I think I can safely predict that David Mueller, who sent me the link to this propaganda with a comment to the effect that he’d rather undergo root canal, won’t be sipping java any time soon with the State’s bullies.
