House Republicans Love War and the Military

House Republicans on Friday passed the 2016 National Defense Authorization Act (H.R.1735) that, as Ron Paul commented, “will guarantee US involvement in more wars and overseas interventions for years to come.” 228 Republicans voted for it. 8 didn’t bother to vote. Only 8 voted against it: Representatives Amash, Clawson (FL), Duncan (TN), Griffith, Jones, Labrador, Massie, and Sanford. Of these 8, I note that Representatives Amash, Duncan (TN), Jones, Labrador, and Massie also voted against the new Republican budget that I wrote about today. This means there are only 5 Republicans in the House out of 244 who are attempting to rein in government spending. And you wonder why I criticize the Republican Party so much?
