On this date in 1967, in the midst of the Vietnam War, the chant “Hell no, we won’t go” was originated in New York City. Too bad every young man in America doesn’t shout this at the top of his lungs when asked if he would join the military and go to Iraq or Afghanistan. Instead, thousands volunteer every year to enlist. Most, I suspect, because they just need a job. Defending our freedoms has nothing to do with it.
