“Ending State Violence Against Black People”

In response to cops’ genocide of black Americans, the Movement for Black Lives states, “Guided by love, we continue to stand together for justice, human dignity and our shared goal of ending all forms of state violence against Black people.”

Tremendous! Here are folks from a culture that usually idolizes the State, recognizing that it is instead their murderer and direst enemy. Just one question: does “state violence” include abortion, which kills more black children every day (“429,000 abortions on Black American women” in 2013, or 1175 per day) than cops kill people in a year (1146* in 2015)?

*Admittedly, this figure is questionable. Cops don’t keep accurate records of their slaughters, for obvious reasons; often they don’t report them at all.
