#ElectionSitout

August 10, 2016

Given that occupants of the White House Oval Office either are criminals or become criminals shortly after assuming office, and given that they get away with their crimes and that there is apparently no institutional mechanism to bring them to justice, I’d like to see Americans in massive numbers withdraw consent from them altogether and stop voting for any candidate. They could also stop giving money to their campaigns and stop attending rallies and stop going to web sites that are part of the campaign.

Sit-ins used to be popular. I recommend a SIT-OUT. I recommend an ELECTION SIT-OUT.

I’m not on Twitter. If someone wants to write a tweet and use the hashtag #ElectionSitout or #VotingSitout, be my guest.

I’ve been sitting out elections for decades. A complementary action is to disown the office.
