Writes Charles Burris: “Neoconservative writer Dinesh D’Souza, who recently debated Congressman Ron Paul concerning the Iraq War, claims Paul is not a real libertarian. Real libertarians, D’Souza says, spread the universal message of human liberty at the point of a bayonet. Such freedom is enhanced, as Chinese Communist dictator Mao Tse Tung famously stated, through the barrel of a gun. Mao, you will recall, was responsible for the deaths of over sixty million Chinese in seeking to bring this grand vision of liberation into reality. Julius Caesar, Genghis Khan, Napoleon Bonaparte, Vladimir Lenin, Leon Trotsky, Adolf Hitler, all equally believed in the D’Souza Doctrine. Might makes right. The ends justify the means. It has been the hallowed justification for tyrants, conquerors, and dictators since the beginning of recorded history.
“This is the essence of the neoconservative vision for America, as George Bush has repeatedly emphasized in speech after speech in his presidency.
“Imperial conquest is liberation.
“War is peace.
“Freedom is slavery.
“Ignorance is strength.”
