That’s how the U.S. government describes the fasces, the symbol of fascism, that adorns the rostrum of the U.S. House of representatives as well as the Lincoln Memorial. “Over time,” the government says, “the fasces came to represent the ideal of American democracy.”
Bet you didn’t know that. Bet you thought it was maybe the Declaration of Independence, or the Constitution.
