First the CDC tried to cancel Thanksgiving, then Christmas, and now Super Bowl parties. Most conservative Christians to the right of Mitch Romney think the CDC recommendations are ridiculous. They also think that the CDC guidelines for sex education in schools is downright evil. Yet, many conservative, evangelical, and fundamentalist churches still consider CDC coronavirus recommendations to be the gospel truth. They still have every other pew blocked off to maintain social distancing, recommend that people watch church at home if they are the slightest bit afraid of catching the “virus” even though they go out to Walmart every week, and encourage or tolerate people wearing face masks to church. Perhaps it is just liberal churches that require face masks (if they are even meeting), but I suppose (and I may be wrong, and hope I am) that even some conservative churches require them or strongly encourage them. After all, some conservative churches have canceled choirs, potluck dinners, and congregational singing. Wake up CDC churches.
