Our Canadian correspondent, David Maharaj, poses a fascinating question:

Belief in the state is a religion (obviously a false religion). They are praised in many ways, including the building of statues to honor their members. With that being the case, do you view the smashing of those statues as a form of destroying false idols?

To be clear, I am not advocating destruction of property, but I do see a vague Biblical connection.

Marxists are right, though for the wrong reasons. when they advocate abolishing departments of police (notice they never demand the logical corollary: arming ourselves). Are they right, but again for the wrong reasons, when they destroy statues honoring Our Rulers?
