Dr. Roberts writes,
Our congregation suspended services for 3 Sundays in March. We resumed regular worship in April and have met continuously ever since. As a pastor, and by God’s grace, I will NOT stop preaching, ever, again. Out of curiosity, I contacted the SC state attorney general’s office months ago and was told that our governor’s “orders” were never intended to prevent churches from meeting. And yet, I know of churches in our area who are still not meeting!
…[L]ately everyone, myself included, is expressing admiration for Dr John McArthur and Grace Community church defying the tyranny of the California church closure rule. However, there are churches that I know that, unlike MacArthur’s, never stopped their public worship. They are not highly visible, with no well known pastors, but they quietly, from the beginning, obeyed God rather than men.
Those shepherds may receive no recognition here on earth, but one day all Heaven will resound with our Lord’s commendation of them: “Well done, thou good and faithful servant!”
One such servant ministers to a congregation of them from Washington State. Among the members is Mr. Anonymous, who
… wanted to let you know that our church has been meeting all through this lockdown. We meet in person, not online, and we discourage mask wearing, if possible. We shake hands, hug, sing, take communion together and we love it! It’s the highlight of our week. We also meet once a week at the same location, for our Bible study and prayer. It’s awesome! No one has gotten sick and we don’t plan on changing what we do, thank the Lord.
He adds,
We’re not giving up our freedoms, that’s for sure. My wife and I regularly shop at Safeway, Lowe’s and Fred Meyer without masks. So far, no one’s bothered us!
Most of the COVIDiocy relies on the serfs’ acquiescence and policing of each other. Perhaps that’s due to Our Rulers’ realization that their “emergency orders” are illegal and thus unenforceable. Pray that their victims will understand that as well.
And rebel.
