The House Intelligence Committee is squabbling. Adam Schiff got all upset when Devin Nunes briefed Trump while not revealing material to the Committee. His material suggested that the Trump transition team was inadvertently the subject of surveillance via the foreign communications route. Who did that surveillance anyway?
Schiff has struck back by a new innuendo suggesting that he’s seen more than circumstantial evidence of “collusion” between Russians and Trump associates. Schiff is “terrified” of Russian hacking and buys into the Russian election hacking scenario big time. This position of upholding American election integrity and lambasting Russia conveniently plays well with the electorate, but there’s nothing of substance behind it. American democracy has long been a farce without the Russians. See Mencken.
Schiff is clearly miffed at Nunes and striking back to neutralize the impact of what Nunes revealed, which placed Trump in a better light.
Addendum: My casual observations of Adam Schiff had led me to conclude that he has zero credibility, but I deleted that from this post because I hadn’t researched it thoroughly. But Justin Raimondo has! He’s got a whole piece on Schiff’s McCarthyite antics.
