My Daughter Wears Army Boots

Not my daughter. God forbid. I would be an absolute failure as a father if she even thought about it. This doesn’t mean that the military didn’t try. But someone’s daughter does indeed wear army boots. And he (or she or both parents) is so proud of it that he put a bumper sticker on his car reading: “My Daughter Wears Army Boots.” I spotted it today in a parking lot. But is this something to be proud of? Aside from all that is wrong with the military invading, occupying, and killing people around the world that it has no business invading, occupying, and killing, there is a very good chance that this daughter will be sexually assaulted or spied on in the shower while in the military. It is one thing for your daughter to join the military; it is another thing to be proud of it.
