Conservative Republicans are outraged that the freed POW is anti-intervention. Or was, depending on how Pentagon brainwashing proceeds. Bowe Bergdahl was ashamed to be a soldier and an American as he was forced to help in that massacre of innocents called war. He may even have tried to change his job (i.e., deserted). There is also Republican anger over his being exchanged for 5 Taliban fighters, i.e. terrorists. But is it really terrorism to oppose foreign invasion and occupation? Were earlier Afghans terrorists to oppose the Greeks, the Romans, the Mongols, the British, and the Russians?
