re: The Fairfax, VA Police State

So the Fairfax, VA police murdered an innocent man because he was “suspected of gambling.” This is how the state deals with competition. If you think I’m exaggerating, go to the web site of the Virginia Lottery (www.valottery.com) and read all about “megamillions,” “LottoSouth,” “Pick 4,” “Pick 3,” “Scratchers,” “Wild Card Triples,” “Greatest Hits Sweepstakes,” and all the other types of state-sponsored gambling. “Virginia is for Gamblers” ought to be the state’s new slogan.

Compete with the state by holding poker games in your basement and you could end up dead at the hands of a SWAT team. But that’s ok because, according to Virignia’s gambling web site, a lot of the money “goes for education.”

There’s that magic word, education. Whenever any politician utters it our brains are supposed to turn to mush as we genuflect to the Almighty State. It’s all for the children, you know (with a few billion here and there for the teachers’ unions who keep these crooks, conmen and misfits in office).
