Dealing with issues of social disagreement
What logic or set of facts can we use to persuade the LEFT to abandon its contrived campaign against hate, racism and division? What messages can we use to deal with others who have an entirely different world view? The answer is, there aren’t any.
American economist Thomas Sowell says: “One of the most dangerous signs of our times is the growing number of individuals and groups who believe that no one can possibly disagree with them for any honest reason.”
The LEFT already has its scripts
The political LEFT already has its scripts. There is a collective social narrative. “Build back better.” “We are all in this together.” There is no place for the individual. We all must march in lock step together.
The political LEFT knows they are wrong but won’t admit it. There will be no apologies from the political LEFT. Responsibility for the deaths from the lockdowns and the shuttling of virally-infected patients into nursing homes will be ignored.
BLM: Front men for the leftist banksters
The BLM burns down businesses in 200 American cities and police and governments stand down. In the convoluted mind of the LEFTIST, these businesses succeeded because of pervasive racism (disregarding the fact many were black-owned private enterprises).
Few can see that the BLM acts as front-man for evil bankers who then swoop in and buy these distressed commercial properties for ten-cents on the dollar, rebuild these burned-down commercial properties and take a special zero-tax rate on capital gains. The LEFT is hiding behind BLM, and plundering private enterprises.
When blacks loot stores, this is now seen as some form of reparation for slavery. There is no outcry from a former black President, who could shame them. Nor from a former black TV host who acts as if she is the conscience of the nation. Rather, both are urging the looters on by their failure to censure.
Difference between LEFT and RIGHT
A friend of mine who has insight into what is going on politically but chooses to remain anonymous (that says something right there), says what distinguishes the LEFT from the RIGHT is the conservative on the RIGHT will die for what he/she believes in. The progressives on the LEFT will kill for what they believe in.
The LEFT will stop at nothing
We must understand the forest fires in California were in the RED zones, the rural areas that the Agenda 21 advocates want vacated. As soon as Texas said it might think of seceding from the union, suddenly a snow storm struck Texas, paralyzing life in the Lone Star State. Geoengineering — weather control. The LEFT will stop at nothing.
The LEFT doesn’t want to hear the other side of the argument. They will just eliminate it. There is no negotiation, no coming to agreement.
Everything is fake anyway
And we are not likely going to resolve issues in the public square like face mask wearing and social distancing or vaccination, regardless of the evidence. This is a contrived pandemic from the get-go, so after that, everything is fake. The COVID-19 coronavirus is like the flu, it mutates rapidly and vaccines are largely ineffective because of that. But we must vaccinate! Or else!
The privileged pay to get their kids in college
So, in this new enlightened era, we see wealthy parents, who paid universities under the table with donations to get their kids into prestigious schools, being paraded and jailed. Yet no mention that it was the LEFTIST schools that accepted the money. The universities didn’t give the money back.
The inference is blacks don’t have the money to get their kids into the best schools, and therefore, this is an example of inequality and racism.
The privileged are buying diplomas for their kids while the poor are being offered free education that has no value in the marketplace
In this modern quest for utopia, everyone has to start out life at home plate, they aren’t allowed to start out at third base. That really means everyone must be equal in poverty. Here is how Churchill said it:
“The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings.
The inherent virtue of Socialism is the equal sharing of misery.”
But then again, you could be self-made billionaire Daniel Pena who isn’t leaving any of his fortune to his sons. He says poverty is the greatest motivator.
As required reading, every kid in America ought to read the book HOW GROWING UP POOR HELPED MAKE ME RICH, by Anthony Belli. This book is about a kid growing up in New York City who was so poor he had to use duct tape to patch the holes in his pants and had rotten teeth that were falling out, and terrible grades in school, and yet he is now a semi-wealthy millionaire.
Isn’t it better that young people start out life at home plate rather than third-base? Then they have a greater sense of accomplishment. Then they learn how to succeed. Cease envying the wealthy. Don’t spoil your children like they do. The poor kids may not have enough to eat. But the rich kids overeat.
What will a college degree be worth? The law of supply and demand
LEFTISTS want to hand out free education, to solve the problem of unequal achievement. But they simply do not understand the law of supply and demand. If everybody has a college diploma, then it becomes worth less. I think music schools graduate more students a year in voice to become opera singers than there are openings for opera singers.
The Bureau of Labor Standards estimates that about 328,100 electrical engineers were employed in the United States as of 2010. Between 2019 and 2029, the Bureau expects electrical engineering growth in jobs at a rate of 3 percent, which will result in the creation of about 10,800 new jobs for electrical engineers by 2029. But there were 13,767 new graduate electrical engineers in 2017-18.
The more that graduate the less they will get paid. That was the problem with brick layers – too many people could do the job and scabs could come in a work for almost nothing, so a brick-layers union was started.
The immigrants come pouring across the southern US border now. Latinos here in the US stand with them. But the more immigrants, the greater the labor pool and the less Latinos in America will earn. That is because of the law of supply and demand.
When the governor of New Mexico promised free college education for all, she doomed the marketability of these students. A college degree is fast becoming worthless.
My then 8-year-old son, upon learning that the government hands out free cell phones, free housing, free medical care and free food, said: “When everything is free then the value of everything will be zero.”
Are people inherently good, industrious and valuable or are they selfish, lazy and of little value?
My insightful friend says the basic reason why there is open political conflict in social gatherings today is because leftists believe humans are good. The homeless are good, and are only victims of society. By pushing a social agenda, the LEFT never has to be individually responsible for their actions.
If humans are innately good, then there is no individual responsibility nor individual achievement. Stop handing out individual grades in school. Everyone will graduate as a class.
Left to their own devices, children will be spoiled and think they are the center of the universe. If people are inherently good, why shan’t we leave our car keys in the ignition and our front doors unlocked?
The argument is we fail because society won’t allow us to succeed. It is not OK for a person to achieve financial success and get ahead of others. There must be equity. A guaranteed basic income, which is what is being proposed today, says you will not earn more for your work than anyone else, regardless of your industriousness.
Declaring victimhood
The LEFTIST rationale is, it is not individual decisions the homeless made (take drugs or alcohol, lose their jobs, etc.), it is our insensitivity to their plight that put them there. And while there is evidence that poverty is getting worse, that mindless/repetitive jobs are being taken away by robots, that the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer, it is the progressive LEFT that is taking all the booty and then blaming the RIGHT for the problem.
Disparity in healthcare
There may be evidence of disparity in healthcare, between blacks and whites, but that may not be because of racism, but maybe something as simple as dark-skinned people don’t produce as much vitamin D as lightly-pigmented people.
LEFT/RIGHT, GOOD/EVIL
In the LEFTIST mind, the Constitution guarantees everyone has freedom collectively, not individually.
Where the LEFTIST sees “good” the RIGHT sees “evil.” The primary thrust of the Constitution was not to trust government, to break it up, to have local oversight, not national control, and a Congress that represents the people. In other words, Main Street instead of Wall Street.
Guns must be taken away now. The public needs to see through this anti-gun propaganda. A new President is elected who is anti-gun, and suddenly there are a lot of shootings. Don’t be fooled. These are nothing more than staged news events to usher in restrictive gun laws.
LIBERAL: “I heard a liberal stopped a shooter by saying
his gun is banned.”
CONSERVATIVE: “Really? No, he got shot!”
Heaven or hell? Ghetto or utopia? Or Kingdom of God?
We don’t enter heaven as a group, or because we belong to the right group. We enter heaven not based on our collective world view, but on our individual behavior.
Then God concludes even our best efforts represent nothing more than “filthy rags” (Isaiah 64: 5-7), that “all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God,” (Romans 3:23) and God offers his unmerited favor, forgiveness for individual (not collective) sins.
Governments don’t go to heaven. Christians believe someday the Kingdom of God will replace government. For individuals there is equal opportunity for grace and forgiveness, but only for those who choose to receive it. Salvation is like an un-opened Christmas gift. It has to be opened.
God is fair but unequal
It was Jesus who told the parable of the landowner who hired workers in the field in the morning for one rate of pay. Then when the landowner needed more workers and there were fewer workers available, he paid the next round of laborers more money per hour to get them to harvest the crop. And finally, he paid another group even more later in the day when there were even fewer workers available to hire, in order to get the harvest completed that day.
The workers came to the boss man and said this was unfair, that the other workers were paid more than the first workers hired. But in the parable, the landowner asked, didn’t he pay them what they had agreed upon? (Matthew 20: 1-16) God is fair. But paychecks may differ.
Who will take care of the poor?
While Jesus “fed the 5000,” and healed the sick, yet He even said: “The poor you will always have with you.” (Matthew 26:11) However, that is not to be used to ignore the needs of the poor.
Jesus was quoting from the Old Testament: “For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore, I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land.” (Deuteronomy 15:11)
Jesus prayed: “Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.” The lenders of the day practiced usury (onerous interest rates on borrowed money). The Bible teaches that making a profit off a loan from a poor person exploits that person. (Exodus 22: 25-27). This is a modern issue that Tucker Carlson aired on FOX NEWS some time ago. Wall Street balked at proposed legislation that would limit interest rates on credit cards.
Yes, have compassion for the disadvantaged. Leave the corner of the crop unharvested says the scriptures, so the poor can have food. (Leviticus 23: 22). That is a far cry from the federal government handing out food to gain votes. Welfare should be handled by the Church, not government.
We as a country have so much surplus food, tons of it are thrown away every day, equal to 130 billion meals a year. How could anybody go hungry is that land of plenty? But that doesn’t give the federal government license to hand out food. The church and private enterprise should fill that gap so this provision isn’t used to gain votes for politicians.
Former President Jimmy Carter once said: “If you don’t want your tax dollars to help the poor, then stop saying you want a country based on Christian values, because you don’t.” But where does the State have license to take the place of the church? Again, welfare is politicized. Same goes for the pandemic. Depoliticize infectious disease and turn it over to health officials.
Wasting money on God instead of the poor
It was the betrayer Judas Iscariot who questioned why the perfume a poor woman brought to clean Jesus’ feet was not sold and the proceeds given to the poor? (John 12) But Jesus saw through Judas, who had a mind to keep the money for himself.
That is what we see today. An example is a black Marxist BLM leader who recently purchased a $1.4 million home in a community that is largely white, obviously using some of the $90 million LEFTIST liberal organizations and companies donated to BLM last year. Black privilege is excused because Whites did it first?
Who rules America?
In the quest for utopia, when everyone is equally immunized, and not spreading disease to others, is when we will achieve a perfect world. Not to matter whether the pandemic is contrived or whether the vaccine is worse than the disease. Or that vaccine makers will plunder the public for billions of dollars.

My insightful but anonymous friend says: “People are basically lazy. They want to get away with as much as they can. They don’t want to put in the work to be a good person, to be a responsible person, an accomplished person. Being good takes work and discipline. We aren’t inherently good. If we were, then why must we discipline our children to stop doing selfish or even dangerous things?”
Another insightful friend who will remain anonymous emails me to say:
“The idea that government will take care of me has ruined responsibility and the need to succeed. Why strive to better myself when I can make more money on welfare. Even if that is not true, when you subtract the welfare foregone by working, the pay per hour for working drops to nearly zero. Even the dumbest among us can figure that out.
The bottom rung of the ladder has been removed. The process of self-improvement or betterment no longer makes any sense. Government take-over of the school systems ensures that people are kept dumb, stupid and dependent.”
The Bible has answers to these challenges, but the flock isn’t hearing about them. We need an army to sell “one nation under God,” to oust welfare out from government control, to preserve free markets and freedom to own private property, and to promote industriousness individually. We need moral people, who realize “God is watching us,” to reduce the cost of enforcing the law.
In his recent book AMERICAN VALUES, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. embodies what our nation now needs so badly. RFK Jr. writes about his grandfather:
“Grandpa loved capitalism, he wanted to save it for the many, not the few. His reforms helped save Wall Street from itself… He knew the stock market, rigged as it was to favor people of a certain background, provided perilous waters for outsiders having learned all the tricks himself…. Grandpa encouraged his children to experience the wide world without regard for comfort. He hoped they would learn to appreciate the value of money without coveting it…
RFK Jr’s grandmother believed the Church should be a champion of the poor and powerless, as Christ had instructed in the beatitudes and elsewhere…Grandma believed all material accumulation is a gift from God.. she described Grandpa George as a man “who didn’t mistake religion for a belief in God.”
RFK Jr. writes that JFK had a “sense of the importance of the rule of law and the sacredness of the Bill of Rights.” He writes that JFK once said: “There is little value in insuring the survival of our nation if our traditions do not survive with it.”
