Conservatives love Senators Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio. The ISIS “crisis” serves as an occasion to see their true natures: they are warmongers. Cruz wants Obama to “take them out,” but should seek congressional approval. Rubio sent a letter to the White House saying that the president should act swiftly without the input of Congress.
As I have said on several occasions, the very heart and soul of conservatism is war. Patriotism, Americanism, and being a real conservative are now equated with support for war, torture, and militarism.
